Teaching qualifications
You’ll need a recognised teaching qualification. The Australian standard you will need to meet is the equivalent of four years of full-time study.Teacher registration/accreditation
All teachers in Australia must be registered with the relevant state or territory authority. Each jurisdiction has it’s own registration body, requirements, and processing times. We’ll help you understand what’s needed based on where you want to live and work.English language proficiency
If your qualification was not taught and assessed in English, or was completed in a non-recognised English-speaking country, you may be required to demonstrate proficiency through IELTS or a similar assessment.- Work rights & visa options
You’ll need a valid Australian-issued visa to live and work here. Common visas include working holiday, skilled independent and employer sponsored options. Sponsorship opportunities are limited and typically depend on your subject area and the location of the role ( with greater availability in regional areas). We recommend contacting a visa agent to work out what option is right for you.
